Since the beginning of our mission in Madagascar, the boat and especially the pirogue is certainly the place where we spend the most time😁
This is hardly surprising given that our project sites are quite far apart and often difficult to access.
We can say that this is a mission where we get our feet wet!

Here too, it's important for us to understand the situation, see where projects stand and also take stock of needs.
👉Humy financed equipment for the Maison des Femmes dedicated mainly to handicrafts.
👉And also funds the ecoguards' allowances.
Observation: There are many poachers, generally armed, in the Ambohidravy forest and the ecoguards are under-equipped.

We are continuing our mission in Madagascar in the Ambalakalanoro region.
It's not an easy region to get to, but it's a necessary trip to understand, observe and take stock of the progress of projects and needs.

We arrived in Madagascar on Sunday.
The aim is simple: to tour the sites where Humy operates.
The island is big and the sites are far apart, so you'll be eating from the car;)
And that's not counting the surprises on the slopes.

- Humy helped to finance part of the construction of the school, as well as the salaries of 3 teachers.
- The nursery, also funded by Humu, is intended to reforest the habitat of the endangered Arlepi frog (Mantella Cowanii).
There are currently 1050 trees of 7 native tree species in the nursery.

On 3 March we celebrate International Wildlife Day. 🥳
🛠️ By funding and working directly on the ground in 6 countries in the tropics, and with the desire to develop conservation activities in mainland France too, the HUMY association is involved in protecting wildlife. 🔭
💫 In this way, our projects co-developed with our various local partners benefit more than 4,500 animal species worldwide. We are also involved in preserving critical ecosystems such as wetlands, swamp forests, different types of tropical forest (dry, evergreen and semi-caducifolia), coral reefs, high-altitude ecosystems (the paramos), etc... All these ecosystems are vital to the resilience of nature on a planetary scale and to maintaining a climatic balance that allows life on Earth. 🦉🦋🐢🐃

🔬 Seagrass beds can be found in many of the world's oceans. They are one of the most important marine ecosystems in many ways. They serve as breeding grounds for all kinds of fish species, filter pollution, provide refuge and food for many species, limit erosion in coastal areas and produce a huge amount of oxygen! 💪
💫 By supporting Naturevolution Indonesia and in particular the programme dedicated to marine biodiversity, HUMY is helping to conserve the seagrass beds in Matarape Bay in Sulawesi Tenggara.

He was a hunter.
Today, he is a nurseryman, working for the forest.
Trained by our local partner @ecodecbenin , he has changed his path - and his outlook.
He now earns a better living and actively promotes forest protection.
In the past, his business did not allow him to build his own house.
Now, thanks to this new profession, he can finally do it.
🌿His message is simple:

- A minimum of 20,000 trees produced and planted in years 1 and 2
- 40 small coffee producers benefit from these trees
- 40 plots restored and/or converted to agroforestry
- 26 beehives installed, including 10 for Meliponiculture, the breeding of Melipona bees - small stingless bees.
- 150 educational workshops as part of the «Mon amie la Nature» programme»

A look back at a project carried out in Cambodia's Phnom Kulen National Park.
For 3 years, we have been proud to have set up this project with the help of ADF, our local partner.

24 January was International Education Day!
👩🏫 In Fohisokina, in the south of the Hauts Plateaux region of Madagascar, HUMY has financed the refurbishment of the school and provided financial assistance to the teachers for many years. In Madagascar, it is common for teachers to be paid little or nothing and for school buildings not to be taken care of by the state, so it is often NGOs that take over and help the education system. 👨🏫
The person in the white coat in the photos is the school principal.
The Fohisokina site is a small nature reserve that is home to one of the rarest and most endangered frogs in the world.
